Biography

Achsah Mudgett was born in 1761 in Hampstead, New Hampshire to Ebenezer Mudgett and Miriam Johnson Mudgett.

She married Perley Chase, son of Johnson Chase and Abigail Pike Chase, in Hampstead 28 November 1798. Achsah was his second wife. The couple had three children, all born in Chester, Rockingham County: John Chase, Mary Jane Chase, and Louisa Chase. They all died in their infancy/childhood.

Achsah Mudgett Chase died in Chester, Rockingham County, New Hampshire 20 October 1832 at 70 years of age. She was buried in the Chester Village Cemetery.
