Research Notes

  • see Needs Source in the sources section below for items that require research or information copied from free sources (like Familysearch.org)
  • Although family stories suggest they immigrated in 1801, their son William MacLean, born in 1813, was said to have been born in Dumfries, Scotland on his death certificate. [3]
  • There was a record for William McClune and Betty Muirhead on 13 Feb 1800 at the Rerrick parish (Reference number 879/ 10 170)
  • There was one child, Jean McClune christened to the couple on 3 Dec 1800 at the same parish (879/ 10 96), meaning it is possible they immigrated in 1801 and changed the spelling of their last name.
