Biography
James was born about 1854. As a young man he went to Liverpool where he married Jane Ellen Griffiths and, at least, one of his children was born there. He went to Auckland 31 years before his death and was a land agent for 27 years. James was an un-ordained Methodist preacher. At the age of 70 he suffered a stroke and died six weeks later. He passed away in 1924. He left a widow, four daughters and two sons.
His wife, Jane Ellen, died on 16 March 1933.[1]
