Biography

James was born on 6 November 1897 at Jerrara.^[1] He married his first cousin, Rita Mary Collins (1906-1971) on 4 January 1933 at Crookwell.^[2] Rita’s parents were Walter Collins and Editha George, also first cousins. James worked as a labourer and they lived at Jerrara. Their only child died at the age of five. Rita died on 23 October 1971 at Jerra.^[3] James later lived with Rita’s sister, Mavis Moorby. James died at the age of 88 at Jerrara on 6 June 1986. He and Rita are buried with their daughter in the Jerrara Churchyard. James is a half brother of Edith May Collins.
