Ancestry of this Samuel Mulford remains uncertain. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, FamilySearch Ancestral File, M94F-MLK posits that our Samuel Mulford was b 1698 in New York City, child of Samuel Mulford / Esther Conklyne of East Hampton, Long Island, New York. However, other sources state that this Samuel Mulford married Sarah Fithian and died 1743. See: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Mulford-244; There were at least five generations of "Samuel Mulfords" in the East Hampton Mulford family, but the Samuel who married Geertje Fonteyn is evidently not among them. Rattray, Jeanette E, East Hampton History Including Genealogies of Early Families (Garden City, NY Life Press 1953), pp. 476-477.
