WEDDING JOBSON—MULHOLLAND A very pretty wedding was solemnised in the Methodist Church, Jones' Island, on the 19th April, the contracting parties being Rose Ruby, eldest daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Mulholland, of Jones' Island, and John Ronald Jobson, second eldest son of Mr. John Jobson, of Mitchell's Island. The Rev. A. E. Frede, of Taree, was the officiating clergyman. The church was beautifully decorated by friends of the bride. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a charming gown and train of cream satin with a matching embroidered tulle veil held with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a beautiful bouquet of roses and bouvardias made and presented by Mrs. J. Hammond, and wore a gold necklace, the gift of the bridegroom. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a gold signet ring. The bridesmaid, Miss Hilda Mulholland (sister of the bride), wore a dainty frock of eau-de-nil green silk and net to match, and carried a bouquet of pink cactus dahlias. The bride and bridesmaid's dresses were greatly admired and were made by the mother of the bride. The bride's mother wore a nigger brown dress trimmed with beads, and hat to match. The bridegroom was attended by his cousin, Mr. Morris Jobson. As the wedding party entered the church the congregation sang "The Voice That Breath'd O'er Eden." During the signing of the register Miss Jean Bertram beautifully rendered, "O, Promise Me." As the happy couple left the church, Mrs. Hammond played the organ. The reception was held in the Kingston Hall, Jones' Island, Rev. J. U. Fullerton acting as chairman. The usual toasts wsre honoured and telegrams read. The cake, which was made by the bride's mother, was very prettily decorated by Mrs. Ruff, of Taree. The happy couple left by car for the honeymoon at Coff's Harbour, the bride wearing a beautifully tailored suit of fawn with brown accessories. Prior to the wedding the bride was tendered a presentation in the Kingston Hall by her many friends from whom she received a well filled wallet of notes. |
