Per the 1861 Canadian Census Hugh (born about 1777 in USA) and his wife Mary (born about 1786 in USA) were living with their son George (born about 1815 in Ontario) in Beverly, Wentworth, Ontario, Canada. Several of their other children were also living in Beverly.
From The Pioneers of Beverly by John A. Cornell, 1889, archive.org: "Troy, as I have said, lies about five miles south of Sheffield and was settled about the same year... In the year 1810 there were seven families who moved into that section. The first was Hugh Mulholland, who settled on the farm now occupied by his grandson Wellington Mulholland... The family were Americans by birth... This family is and has been highly respected in the neighbourhood."
