Biography

Harry E. Mull was born about 1873 in Pennsylvania. A biography on his mother’s Find-a-grave memorial lists him as Henry Elwood Mull. He was the son of William H. and Lucy (Nitterhouse) Mull, who are both buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, Kansas . His mother was born in Chambersburg, Franklin Co., PA, and lost property there when the Confederates burned Chambersburg in July 1864. Lucy was a Milliner. [1] [2] [3]

Harry married Lena Olmsted on November 9, 1893. She was the daughter of Philip and Frances (Richardson) Olmsted of Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas.

Thursday Evening by Rev. Geo. D. Rogers, at his residence on Rhode Island street, Mr. Harry E. Mull to Miss Lena Olmstead. The contracting parties are well and favorably known in Lawrence where they have resided all their lives and accept the congratulations of a large, circle of friends who wish them much joy and happiness in their new life. Harry and Lena lived on the east side of Lawrence, Kansas, and Harry worked at the Santa Fe depot. They had two children: William and Ethel. Tragedy struck in 1897 when Harry died on October 2, 1897. His son William died soon after on October 17th.

Harry Mull Dead- Saturday night, Harry Mull, who has been employed in the baggage room at the Santa Fe depot, died at his home in the east part of the city. He has a wife and two children. The funeral will take place from the residence at 731 Connecticut street at 10 o’clock tomorrow morning. [5]
The funeral of Harry Mull took place this morning; there was a large attendance of friends and relatives. [6]

He was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence, Douglas Co., Kansas [7]
