Obituary

DIED: MUMPER - At ranch residence, Thursday afternoon, January 16, 1896, of cancer of the pancreas, John Mumper, aged 67 years. Deceased, with his family, resided on a fine ranch north of the Eleventh avenue bridge for about fifteen years. He was a man of sterling character and well liked by neighbors and friends. For years he has been a great sufferer from the disease which caused his death and the end was a release.

He leaves a wife, two sons, Frank and Abram, three daughters, Lizzie, Anna, and Sarah Jane (Mrs. Perry A. Duncan), of Sheridan, Wyo., to mourn his departure.

The funeral took place from the family residence Sunday afternoon, under the auspices of Occidental Lodge No. 20, A.F. & A.M., the Rev. Willis G. Clark of the Baptist church officiating, and the remains were escorted to Linn Grove by a large procession of relatives and friends.[1]
