October 9, 1988 Obituary New Ulm, Minn - Floyd E. Munce, 73, New Ulm, died Sunday in Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls. Mr. Munce was born May 7, 1915, in Hartford. He married Alice Spielman Aug. 31, 1938, in Humboldt. They farmed near Sioux Falls for seven years, and in 1945 moved to Browns Valley, Minn., where he owned and operated a farm implement dealership. They moved to New Ulm in 1959, and he owned and operated the Southside Cafe for 12 years. He later was a custodian at Dr. Martin Luther College until 1981, when he retired. He was a member of the Cathedral parish and a member of St John's Court Catholic Order of Foresters. Survivors include his wife; one son, Dan, New Ulm; two daughters: JoAnne Havemeir and Cheri Munce, both of New Ulm; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services were Wednesday in Cathedral of Holy Trinity, with burial in the Catholic cemetery. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home was in charge.
