David (Russian: Давид Абрамов Муниц) was born in 1903.
David was the son of Abram Munitz.
In 1920 he lived in Griva at Kalkunas iela 120. He later moved to Daugavpils where in 1922 he lived at Zala iela 22.
David immigrated to United States circa 1922. He lived in Ohio for a few years where he worked as a butcher. He almost got in trouble with the law during the prohibition era but was able to flee to New York. Where he settled and got married.
David might have landed in United States under the name of Samuel Munitz. According to a story told by David's son Albert Munitz, his father got very sick when he was a kid (might have been during the Spanish Flu Pandemic). David's parents gave him a new name Samuel in order to hid him from the Angel of Death. This was a relatively common practise at the time. Albert Munitz also mentioned that one of David's brothers died during the same time from illness.
