Annie Munro was born in the parish of Creich, Sutherland, Scotland, on the 19th of September, 1815, to shepherd William Munro and Ann MacKay, and baptised on the 24th of September, 1815.[1]
The Munro family came to Australia as assisted immigrants via the James Moran, arriving 11th February 1839.[2][3]
Annie and convict John Ballantyne received permission to marry on the 22nd May 1840.[4] They married at Wollongong on the 14th September 1840.[5]
Annie and John farmed in the Shoalhaven area, and later moved to Woodburn, where she died on the 17th or 18th of January, 1900.[6][7] John and Annie are buried in the Woodburn Cemetery.[8]
