Keith was born in 1932, growing up hunting, trapping, fishing and working on the family farm near Amaranth, Manitoba. He served in the Canadian Air Force during the Korean conflict (predominantly working 'search and rescue' in northern locations. He married and had two sons and two daughters while working a locations throughout Western Canada. After the marriage broke down, the family remained in Winnipeg while he remained available to his children.
He had a varied career and settled in the building maintenance trades, working as "chief engineer" of the Hotel Fort Garry, managing maintenance for several high rise apartments and the Portage la Prairie school division. He returned to Winnipeg and passed away in 1991.
