She was listed as a 1 1/2 year old, single, white female. Her birth place was listed as Georgia, as were the birthplaces of her parents. Others in the household were her siblings: Clifford, Lesley P., and Maurice.[1][2][3]
On the 1930 Census, she was enumerated in Buchanan, Haralson County, Georgia, United States in the household of her parents, Virgil M. Munroe and Carrie Brown Munroe. On this census, she was listed as an 11 year old, single, white female. According to the census, she had not attended school since September 1929, and she could read and write. Her birth place and the birth places of her parents were listed as Georgia, and she spoke English. Others in the household along with herself and her parents were the following siblings: Clifford, Leslie P., Maurice M., William E., and Theodore E.[4][5]
On 4 Aug 1938, she and John M. Haney applied for a marriage license in Haralson County, Georgia, USA. According to the marriage license, she was 20 years old and lived in Bremen, Haralson County, Georgia, USA. It stated that her father's name was Virgil, and his residence was listed as Bremen.[6] They were married on 6 Aug 1938.[7][8]
On 16 Oct 1940, her husband registered for the World War II Draft. Virgil Mozell Haney was listed as his next of kin. Her address was given as RFD #2, Buchanan, Haralson County, Georgia, USA.[9]
On the 1950 census, she was enumerated in Buchanan, Haralson County, Georgia, USA in the household of her husband, John M. Haney. She was listed as a 31 year old, married, white female. Her birth place was listed as Georgia. She was listed as a housekeeper and did not work outside of her home. At the bottom of the census page that she is listed on, she had to fill out more information. According to that information, she was living in the same house the year before. The highest level of school that she completed was S-3 which was the 3rd year of elementary school. The total earnings for her household for the previous year was $750. Other members of the household besides Virgil M. Haney and her husband were the following children: Doyle N., Dale M., Buford R, and Elbert V.[10][11]
Her residence in 1958 was listed in the obituary of her father, Virgil Maurice Munroe, as Bremen, Haralson County, Georgia, USA.[12]
In the 1969 obituary of her mother, Carrie Brown Munroe, her residence was listed as Buchanan, Haralson County, Georgia, USA.[13]
Virgil died on April 21, 1995 in Georgia. She was buried at Buchanan City Cemetery in Buchanan, Haralson County, Georgia.[14]
