Biography
Jesse moved from Granville, Massachusetts to Licking Co., Ohio in November of 1805. [1]. "Jesse Munson was the oldest child of Ephraim and Comfort Curtiss Munson. Although born near New Haven, CT, the family migrated to Granville, Massachusetts. During the Revolution, Jesse was a 2nd Lieutenant and participated under Captain Lebbeus Ball at Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1775. He acquired a substantial part of his father's land in Granville, but sold it in 1804; then in 1805, along with many of his neighbors and many of his children and their families moved from New England to Ohio where the emigrants established the town of Granville, Ohio, in Licking County. Jesse was the oldest and wealthiest member of this band of emigrants. He died aged 72 in Granville, Ohio"[2]
