"Mrs. Christopher Smith died at the family residence July 4, at 8 o'clock a.m. She was in good health till Wednesday, June 29, when she was walking in the garden with her husband, she suddenly called out to him to take hold of her. He caught her just in time to prevent her from falling. When she was brought into the house it was ascertained she had had a stroke of paralysis rendering her entirely helpless. The funeral took place at the Presbyterian church Thursday, at 3 p.m. and from there to Mound Grove Cemetery."[9]
Anna died on 4 July 1882 and was buried in Kankakee, Kankakee, Illinois, United States.[10]
