-Murdock, Kisco/Kisko/Kissco/Kissko (Grandparents) --Murdock, Edwards (Parents) ---Me
Started out seeking to learn about my grandfather’s parents and grandparents and while my father was alive I successfully discovered his grandparents and eventually confirmed his great grandparents. This sent me on a discovery to the arrival of my 5th great-grandfather, Hamilton Murdock, just prior to the start of the American Revolution in 1768. Hamilton Murdock accompanied by his wife Mary [Cleland] Murdock and five children: Margaret, Elizabeth, William, Jane and James of Killyleagh, County Down, Northern Ireland travel by way of the Brig Lord Dungannon from Belfast, Ireland to the port of Charleston in the colonies.
I continually seek information about my grandmother's Kissko heritage.
Concurrently, I worked with my mother to document her line. This blossomed with the assistance of a 3rd cousin who shared their research. Let’s just say my view of the family greatly expanded.
Additional growth came from members of my wife’s family as well as members of my brother’s wife’s family.
I’ve learned a lot on how to tease details out of electronic records and such. I strive to track to birth names and where pertinent/appropriate capture given/family/or familiar names. From my professional life, I bring a penchant for records. I suspect those who review this work, will see that penchant. So, so much to do still. Please know I am thankful for those who share their work thus adding credence to my own research.
DNA is facilitating addition growth as well as identifying and even connecting with members of the extended family not reflect in the above works.
I am open to learning from others about my extended family. This is a brave new world we live in today…

The email we just sent has helpful links to get you started.
WikiTree is different from other genealogy websites because our goal is to create one big family tree with ONE PROFILE PER PERSON. This means we all work together on our shared ancestors.
When you confirm your email address, you’ll be given an opportunity to volunteer to help document our collective family history. Use the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests. It can be a name, like SMITH, or a place, like AUSTRALIA. Be sure to click the "Enter Tag(s) and Volunteer" button when you finish!
After you volunteer, one of us will be by to confirm your membership. Then you'll be able to add your family!
Hope to see you soon!
