Research Notes
a). It is believed that Robert Hamilton MURDOCH was a master gunner in the Royal Artillery. This is supported by the different military type places where his children were born. such as Jamaica (1840's); Leith, Edinburgh; Fort Charlotte, Lerwick, Shetland, Scotland (1851 census); Dunbarton, Dumbartonshire, Scotland (1861 census).
b). Irish Death Registration from GRONI did not show Robert's father, only his son-in-law Hugh Wood MILLER (husband of ----- ) as the informant. Hugh was recorded as being present at the time of Robert's death.
