Biography
Samuel was born in Idle, Yorkshire 22 June 1826 & baptised Samuel Murgatroyd, with his brothers John & James on 29 June 1837 the son of Benjamin Murgatroyd (delver) & Mary his wife of Idle, in the parish of of Calverley. Date of birth included included in entry. [1]
The marriage of Samuel Murgatroyd & Louisa Walker was conducted on 13 April 1846 Calverley, St. Wilfred, Yorkshire. [2]
In 1861 living in Highfield Lane, Idle, Bradford with wife Louisa & children. He worked as a stone quarry foreman.[3]
A quarry owner employing 12 men, in 1881 living with wife Louisa & children in Shann Street, Bolton, Bradford, Yorkshire. [4]
Samuel died in 1889. [5]
