Biography

Edna Murphy was born in 1916. She was the daughter of Daniel Murphy and Edna McCollum. Her mother died died within hours of her birth so she was raised by her maternal grandmother, Sophronia McCollum. Sophronia died in 1925. Sometime before September of 1928, Edna was adopted by Abraham and Bertha (Hirsch) Saenger. By 1935, the Saengers moved from California to Shreveport, Louisiana. Edna passed away in 1961 in Houston, Texas and was buried at Forest Park East Cemetery in Shreveport, Lousiana, next to her adopted parents, Abraham and Bertha Saenger.
