Allin wrote his (last) will on 12 September 1872. At that time he describes himself as a brush maker, and the business as a going concern. His estate is to go in two parts to his wife Jane, and one part to his daughter Elizabeth Limb. Any of his estate remaining at the time of Jane's death is to pass to Elizabeth, and then to granddaughter Jane Limb. Any estate remaining at Elizabeth's death is to pass to Jane Limb. There is no mention in the will of his first daughter, Katherine Mary (Murphy) Marshall, who had died in 1864, or her surviving daughter Catherine Mary. Allen Murphy died on 12 March 1873 in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire [9], and his death was registered in the March quarter of 1873, under the name Allen Murphey (sic) [10].
