Biography
He married (second) December 29, 1884, Sarah McDermott, born in county Durham, England, a daughter of Bart and Sarah (Murphy) McDermott, the former a Catholic, the latter a Protestant. They came to America in 1874. settling at Houtzdale, Clearfield county, Pennsylvania, and came to McKeesport in 1887. He was a miner by occupation, and retired from active work when he was seventy- four years of age. He and his wife have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, and have had children: Thomas, a timekeeper; Sarah, who married Mr. Hugo; Jane; Hugh, a merchant of McKeesport, who died in 1912; Joseph, living retired at McKeesport ; John, a barber of McKeesport.
