Biography

Both Marie’s parents were immigrants to the United States; Martin P Murphy [Murphy-13721] from Ballynamona, County Wexford, Ireland; and Marie-Ann Belisle [Belisle-420], French Canadian from Québec, Canada.

Marie’s father died two years after her birth. Marie-Ann Murphy returned to Québec, Canada without her child. I have not been able to trace Marie after her father’s death. I will contact the Catholic Church for their adoption or Orphan Train records.

Marie Margaret Murphy resurfaces in Idaho Falls, Idaho in the US Census of 1920. She marries Aubrey Campbell Ainsworth [Ainsworth1431] on 18 Jun 1919. They have two children. Ainsworth, Sr leaves her and her children in California in about 1925.

She marries John Ernest Livermore [Livermore-1092] on 13 Apr 1928 in Eddy, New Mexico. John Livermore adopts both Ainsworth children. On 17 Jun 1931 their baby, William Donald Livermore, is born.

Marie passed away on 3 Feb 1975 in Seal Beach, California.
