Came to America about 1835 at the age of 24.
4/18/1836: purchased the farm from his father-in-law, Dennis Kenny, and continued to farm until his death. To his original purchase of 100 acres, he added 100 acres on 10/8/1838, which he purchased from Ralph Newell.
Family tradition states that the first 4 children died within a week of each other from scarlet fever. All were buried in the Prospect Cemetery, near the railroad tracks, Stamford, NY.
