Biography
Christina was a daughter of John Murphy and Mary Deasy.
Christina was born about 1883 [1].
She married Walter Murray in Ireland 1909[2]. A daughter Mary Amelia (Maisie) was born there in 1909. Christina migrated to New Zealand with her sister, mother and daughter, in 1912[3].
Initially Christina lived with her mother and with her daughter Maisie in Dunedin.
The Ashburton Guardian 21 Jan 1914 reported that Christina was severely burned in an accident in her mother's home.
When Walter's military service ended he also migrated to New Zealand and another child, William, was born about 1922.
Christina and Walter later moved to Christchurch, with the intention of looking after the children of Christina's sister May, after their carer Mary Murphy (Deasy) died in 1931.
