Mary was born about 1858. She passed away in 1938.

“ OBITUARY MRS. M. PETRIE, TENTERFIELD, Tuesday. Mrs. Mary Petrie, who was born in Tenterfield, and who had resided in the district all her life, has died after a brief illness. She was 80 years of age, and was a daughter of the late Daniel and Johanna Murphy. In 1876 she married the late Jacob Petrie, who predeceased her by 10 years. There were four children. They are George Petrie (Tenterfield), Mrs. C. Bendall and Mrs. Guy Curr (Bolivia), and Daniel Patrick Petrie (Tenterfield). There are 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Messrs. M. and D. Murphy (Tenterfield) and one sister, Mrs. J. Hynes (Sydney) also survive.” ^[1]
