William purchased land in Augusta County, Virginia in 1769. [2]
Rev William was of Bedford Co, 2 Feb 1775. He bought land on North Bank of the Blackwater River, Bedford Co, Carolina Province in Orange County in 1755. He was a traveling minister. William returned in 1758 to the Banks of Banister; Halifax Co, VA., sold his land May 22, 1778 in Bedford Co and bought land in Halifax County, Virginia on Dec 1778. Sarah signed a document as a witness July 21, 1767 as Sarah Murphy. William left Tennessee in 1798 for Louisiana Territory with sons. He died en route home between New Orleans and Tennessee.
