Biography
Eliza was born in Kingston, Ontario, probably in 1867. In 1891 she was there with her parents, a tailoress. In 1893 she married Henry Chapman in Kingston. They moved to New York and were in Utica, Ward 9, from 1910 to 1920 and in Ward 17 in 1925. They had six children. Henry died in 1924. In 1930 and 1940 she was in Syracuse, New York, in the home of her son Kenneth, and in 1945 in Central Square, New York state. She died in Utica in 1959 and was buried in New Forest Cemetery.
Note
Eliza's birth date was recorded as 4 July 1867 and by FindAGrave as 4 July 1870. Possible birth years from census-recorded ages vary from 1867 to 1872. The 1871 census seems most reliable: her age is 3 and her brother James is 1.
