Many descendants of other children of Francis and Mary (Murphy) Hiltz have had DNA tests, as have many descendants of Walter and Mary (Connors) Murphy. I have yet to find a single descendant of the other Hiltz children who shares a match with a Walter Murphy descendant.
I believe that Mary (Murphy) Hiltz was the daughter of Samuel Murphy and Mary Johnston of Dover, Halifax County. Samuel and Mary had a daughter Mary in 1821. Her baptism was recorded in the register of St. Paul's Anglican Church in Halifax. The Hiltz family was associated with the Morash family, first in West Dover and then in Peggy's Cove, where Mary (Murphy) Hiltz died in 1902.
Walter Murphy and Mary Connors also had a daughter about 1821. At various times in various documents, her name was recorded as Ann, Mary and Mary Ann. She married Edward Martin, also of Ketch Harbour. She and Edward had several children. I am a DNA match with descendants of theirs.
