Biography

Margaret Murphy was a weaver for most of her life.

77, Brookfield St Ardoyne

She lived in 69 Brookfield St with her family, later with her sister Kathleen and children and moved with them to Hesketh Park in 1956 or so. She also went with them when Kathleen moved to Cork to escape the troubles. She never married. She died there and is buried in St Michael’s Graveyard, Blackrock, Cork City. She was famous for her little sayings, many of them derived from prayers but many old Belfast expressions. She went on holiday with Seamus & their children when they visited from Belfast in the 70’s and 80’s.
