Biography
Samuel was born in 1831. He passed away in 1909.
- He was born near Salisbury, N. C. The Sumter, S. C. branch always heard that son Johnny went west to the "gold rush". Two infant girls who may not have actual grave markers were Virginia Jay Murr (17 Nov. 1872-23 May 1873) and Blanch Dunwreath Murr (20 Nov. 1875-20 July 1876).
United Daughters of the Confederacy issued a certificate to his grand-daughter ("Zoe" Hall Rhame) in 1912 based on his service with Company B, 57th North Carolina Regiment, C. S. A.
