I am the daughter of James Arlander Murray and Slena Mae Peebles. My family lines include: Murray, Vandiver, Isbell, Birdwell, Lucas, Looney, Boone, Allen, Yocum, Peebles, Casey, Duckett, Lucas, Linam, Tolbert, Terry, Menefee and all their collateral lines.
I have been a family historian since childhood. Genealogy is my way of preserving the family history and passing those memories down for future generations. My family is so small now, that I can only hope that one or two others might take up the pursuit of primary sources of our family for the future.
I have had a blog referencing my hometown and its treasured past for a long time now; been a contributor to Find-A-Grave for over eight years at present; and have done innumerable family trees for those on a gratis basis. And now, joining the WikiTree group my quest for accurate data from primary sources to enhance my family lines.
I have honed my research skills and have been working at a seasoned professional level for many years now. My goal is to continue to work on all my branches discovering new finds, and correcting errors in fact whenever I locate them. Primary sources are the gold standard for work in genealogy. May we all soldier on. Sourcing is often blocked by loss of primary records at courthouses that were burned during the Civil War, loss of family bible records, etc. DNA has been a big boost to family historians now for a few years.
If I should be unable to contribute to my family history at any point, due to death or disability, then I designate either of my two children, my grandchild, or any other near relative, should my closest relatives not be able or choose not to take over my profiles. and continue the research forward on WikiTree. 30 Dec 2017

I sent you a check-in message several days ago about the 1776 Project to ask you about your past and continued involvement but have not yet heard back from you. Do you still want to be in the project?
If I don’t hear from you in a week or so, I’ll assume that you’ve moved on to other things, but you’re most welcome to re-join the project at any time.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Best wishes,
Betty -- 1776 Project Leader
We're doing our semi-annual check-in to ask whether you have made contributions to the project in the last six months?
Please note that it is a requirement for membership in the 1776 Project that you respond to this check-in. Please post your response as a reply to this message on your page, for convenience of record keeping.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Betty -- 1776 Project Leader
I am checking in on behalf of the 1776 Project to announce the new project membership requirements and to verify that you are still interested in being a member of the project. All project members are being asked to join one of the project teams and also to make at least one project contribution every 6 months. We are also asking all project members to join the project's Google Group for project communications.
If you are interested in remaining with the Project, please reply to this comment or send me a message, request to join the Google Group, and let us know what team you would like to participate on.
We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.
If we don't hear back from you we will assume that you no longer wish to participate in the project and if so, you could rejoin at any time as is convenient for you.
We look forward to hearing from you soon!

As you may have seen, we have been doing some restructuring in the US Southern Colonies Project and are now organising ourselves into different teams. We have also changed the criteria for membership. Please have a look at the new project pages, and let me know whether you would like to remain in the project and, if so, which team(s) you would like to be in.
Please can you also send me your e-mail address. I can then make sure you are introduced to your Team Leaders and are in the Google Group.
Please note that it is a requirement for membership in the US Southern Colonies Project that you respond to these check-ins. We’re really excited for the future of the project and hope that you decide to be a part of it with us moving forwards.
Many thanks,

Notables are not automatically PPP Project Protected - someone has to select that for them on an individual basis. - As far as General Casey goes, he does qualify as a Notable and if you like, I will PPP the profile. - Thanks.
