Margaret was born on the 5th of October 1818 and baptised at Kelso on the 8th of November 1818. She was the daughter of stocking-maker William Murray and Janet Bell.[1][2]
She married William Glaister at Kelso on the 15th of September 1843 at Kelso. Witnesses were Robert Purves and Thomas Glaister.[3]
The family were recorded living on Roxburgh Street at the time of the 1851 census. (Their first daughter Janet had died at the age of 2 in 1848.) William gave his occupation as a Whitesmith.[4]

William and Margaret had four (known) children together: Janet, Robert, Margaret and William before Margaret's death (sometime between 1853 and 1857).

Margaret appears to have died sometime between the birth of her son William Glaister in 1853 and William's remarriage in 1857. (no death record has yet been found - William recorded as widower at his second marriage)
