Margaret (Murray) Washington is Notable.

Margaret James Murray was born about 9 Mar 1861 in Macon, Noxubee, Mississippi, United States. She was one of ten children of sharecroppers James Murray (an Irish immigrant) and Lucy Ann (Bradshaw) Murray.

She was a graduate of Fisk University, where she first met Booker Taliaferro Washington. They married in Macon County, Alabama on 12 Oct, 1892.[1] Margaret was his third wife.

Margaret died on 4 Jun 1925 in Tuskegee, Macon, Alabama aged 64. She is buried in Tuskegee University Campus Cemetery, Tuskegee, Alabama.[2]

Margaret was inducted into the Alabama Women's Hall of Fame in 1972. She appears as a character in the 2020 Netflix miniseries "Self Made", played by actress Kimberly Huie.
