Lieutenant Reuben Murray served with 17th Regiment, Albany County Militia, New York Militia during the American Revolution.
Reuben Murray was born 17 Feb 1743 in Guilford, Connecticut, the son of Jehiel & Mary (Way) Murray. [1][2]
He married Sarah Guthrie, daughter of John & Abigail (Coe) Guthrie.
They were parents of Lucinda, Mary, Philo, Sarah, Reuben II, Heman, Allen Swift & Aurora.
"Aurora Murray, Ballston, N.Y, her father Reuben Murray, was a Lieutenant in the New York State service during the contest " ...she married William Travers Jerome [3]
Military: Lt - Capt Jeriah Swift Co, Colonel Charles Burrell Regt, 1776, CT. Also, Lt - Capt Daniel Herrick's Co, Colonels. William Bradford Whiting & Abraham J Van Alstine, 17th Regiment, Albany Co, NY Militia. [4][5]
After the death of wife Sarah (Guthrie) he married Sarah Knickerbocker about 1793.
In 1810 they were living in Pompey, New York where he died 26 Nov 1810.[6]
He was great grandfather to Britain's Winston Churchill. (needs source)
