Biography

I have been doing my family research for over 40 years, both the old fashioned way and on the computer through Ancestry.com. I have 5 branches to my tree which encompass about 3500 individuals. I have traced my family to the "Mayflower" and beyond and to the era of "William the Conquerer" ..... I am now 82 years of age and I am very much interested in adding my family to the "WORLD TREE". LORD willing I hope I will be able to complete the task.....

Sources

  • First-hand information. Entered by Evelyn Murray McKelvey at registration.

The entire WEIR/HIBBARD & MURRAY/GRAY family tree was compiled on ANCESTRY.COM from my Family Records, LDS Family Search, Federal Census Reports, Naturalization Papers and Property Deeds, Immigration Reports and the "Genealogy of the Hibbard Family written by Augustine George Hibbard in 1901" ; as well as information received from The Cumbria Family History Society and the Bishop's Transcripts of Cumbria, England.

I plan to edit each profile with source info as time permits upon completion of GEDCOM submissions. Lord willing!

Well it is Sept. 27, 2016 and my editing has begun .... I am writing this just to see how long it might take ....... or I will forget when I started.

NOTE; I am an 8TH Cousin 1 x removed to Lady Diana Spencer Windsor........ Our 7th Great Grandfathers were brothers. This makes me a 9th Cousin 1 x removed from the future King of England, HRH William Windsor. I received a correction on this relationship calculation from Gilly Wood on 1/21/17. Thank you, Gilly.

Evelyn, if you noticed on the note I wrote for Hankins-1069 as reason for the merge, I entered the name and Dates and then accidentally created the new profile. It is our Thomas John Hankins born 1700 Burlington NJ d1748. There is now way to delete the accidental profile and the information I entered is the same for Hankins-115.

Thanks Evelyn, I think you are correct on the merge.

While most of my ancestors listed were from my maternal side, the Lawrence and McNeal grandfathers were from my father's mother's family. Her maiden name was Lawrence and her mother was a McNeal.

Good Morning Evelyn. Here are the three grandfathers who served in the Union Army. Joseph A. Lawrence, Co. G, 88th Ohio Infantry, John W. McNeal, C. E, 82nd Ohio Infantry, and Samuel G. Mohney, Co. C, 78th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. In addition, I have eight grandfathers listed by the DAR as Patriots. George Daubenspeck, John Jacob Daubenspeck, Patrick Keran (Kerns), Adam Johann Mohney, Johann Christian Schlegel, Christian Schick Sr, and Christian Schick Jr. I have also found Rufus Lawrence as listed with Spaldings Independent Company (Conn) and he was at the battles of Brandywine and Germantown.

Hi Evelyn! I noticed you have some Beckwith profiles that aren't connected to anyone. I'm guessing maybe this was an issue with a GEDCOM import. Can you please take a look and see if a connection that you intended to include got dropped by accident? The profiles are Beckwith-1119, 1120, and 1121. Thanks!

If you are researching the Wells/Herman family then the Zelma Price Wells Book may be of great interest to you. There is 2 whole volumes dedicated to the Wells family. You can download it for free on FamilySearch.org It is called "OF WHOM I CAME; FROM WHENCE I CAME WELLS-WISE, RISH-WISE AND OTHERWISE". Some research is now been corrected just from all the new ways to get info, but it has so much useful info.

Hi! I missed your post on the Davis name study, my apologies. I added the localized categories to the ancestor that you posted about. If there's anything else I can do to help, please let me know. I'm trying to figure out the best way forward.
