Biography
This profile is part of the Murray Name Study.
Francis was born circa 1645. He was the 5th son of John Murray 5th Laird of Pennyland and Margaret Murchison.
Francis was married twice.
He married Elizabeth Mudie in Kirkwall, Orkney on 9th September 1670.
He married Margaret Kincaid almost certainly after 1679 and the birth of his daughter Barbara. We can speculate that Elizabeth Mudie died in or as a consequence of childbirth and Francis quickly remarried, given that he had 7 children under the age of 10.
Tragically, at the time of his death Francis was still a young man in his 30s leaving a widow and young family.
