Martha Murrell was born on November 18, 1758, in Goochland County, Colony of Virginia, daughter of Drury Murrell (1740–1801) and Dorcas Roundtree (1740–1776).

She was christened on 14 Feb 1759, at St James Northam Parish Church in Goochland[1],

Martha (24) married Matthew Farrar (22) (born on October 29, 1760, in Louisa, Virginia; son of Perrin Farrar and Sarah (Lacy) Farrar) on December 17, 1782, in Goochland, Virginia. [2]
