James Elmer Musgrave was born May 8, 1870 in Zanesville, Ohio. [1] He was the son of Artileus (or Artilas) Musgrave and Orlinza (Brown) Musgrave Tenney Nixon. [2]
He married Nellie V. Farrar on May 24, 1899 in Chesterfield, Macomb County, Michigan. At the time, James was a hotel keeper and resident of British Columbia. [3] In 1900, Nellie was in the household of her parents with a 3-month-old Sylvia Musgrave. [4]
In 1912, Nellie was in Victoria, B. C., Canada and James was in Buenos Aires, Argentina, working for the West India Oil Company. When he registered with the Consul-General he claimed one child, Sylvia Musgrave, born May 21, 1900 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan (but she was most likely born in February). [5]
In 1920, they were in Cedarhome, Snohomish, Washington, where James was a Poultry Farmer. In additional to their 19-year-old Sylvia, Nellie’s parents were in her household. [6]
James died May 12, 1924 in Alderwood Manor, Snohomish County, Washington. [7] [8] His burial place is unknown.
