Elizabeth Musgrove was born about 1729 at Charles County, Maryland. She was a daughter of Charles Musgrove and Margaret Brayfield. In his Will, written 16 February 1744 (probate 4 May 1751) at Charles County, Elizabeth’s father, Charles Musgrove, left his personal estate to his fourth wife, Catherine, to be divided amongst his six children "that are with me now" after Catherine’s death (Wills 1734-1752, volume 4, folios 336-337).[1] The names of the children were revealed in the final account of his estate, recorded 18 July 1752: Charles, Harrison, Elizabeth, Lidya, Heneritta, and Charity Musgraves (Inventories 1735-1753, folios 501-502).[2]
"Elizabeth Musgraves my sister" was named in the Will of her half-brother, John Philpott on 11 March 1749 (probate 23 March 1749) at Charles County. She was bequeathed one negro girl named Patt to be delivered after Elizabeth married (Wills 1734-1752, volume 4, folios 264-265)[3]
Elizabeth Musgrove died sometime after 18 July 1752 (date of the final account of her father’s estate).
