Mary Kellam Musson was born in 1866 at Swannanoa, Canterbury, New Zealand. She was the daughter of William Musson and Catherine Bird.
She married Alexander McLauchlan on 31st March 1886 at Masterton, Wellington, New Zealand [1][2]

[4]daughter of William Musson (1832-1917) & Catherine Bird (1828-1904). Her mother had first been married to Thomas Munton (1831-1863) who died in Lyttleton soon after arriving in NZ.
Wairarapa Daily Times, 9 Feb 1938 Mrs M. McLAUCHLAN The death occurred at the Masterton Public Hospital this morning, after a lengthy illness, of Mrs Mary McLauchlan, widow of the late Mr Alex. McLauchlan. The deceased was born in Canterbury 73 years ago and had resided in Masterton for the past 36 years. The late Mrs McLauchlan was an ardent worker in the Lansdowne Presbyterian Church. Of a bright and cheerful disposition, the late Mrs McLauchland had made many friends, who will regret to learn of her death. She is survived by one son, Mr J. W. McLauchlan and one daughter, Mrs R. H. Simpson, both of Te Ore ore, who will have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their sad bereavement. There are also seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will leave the residence, Te Ore Ore, at 2.30 p.m. on Friday for the Masterton Cemetery.[5]
