For Mustain Researchers, George Mustain corresponded with Delores M. Mustaine, over many years of exhaustive family research. Here's a link to Jesse's profile in George's research. One can work backward and forward to see other generations. The "Index" view of George's research is excellent to find a specific Mustain or relation. [5]

There was some confusion about Jesse's home...that perhaps his father, Thomas, built the home...and then Jesse remodeled. There are three historic homes standing today: Thomas', Jesse's and Avery's.

Here is Jesse's home: Jesse's Home

Photos and some details of all three Mustain homes are viewable at this Pinterest board, which is a continuing work in progress: Thomas Mustain Descendants from Pittsylvania

Jesse was born about 1755. He is the son of Thomas Mustain and Mary Haley.

Note on wife's surname of Brewis:

I saw no one with the surname Brewis listed as living in Pittsylvania County, Virginia in any of the 1800 Censuses. There are 3 with the surname of Brewis listed in Halifax County in 1792 as shown on the Virginia, U.S., Compiled Census and Census Substitutes Index, 1607-1890 Ancestry.com, but none are a Robert. I am thinking that Brewis in this record may be a misspelling of the surname "Bruce". I believe that Polley's father, Robert Brewis, was probably one of the two Robert Bruce's listed in Pittsylvania County in 1792 as shown on the Virginia, U.S., Compiled Census and Census Substitutes Index, 1607-1890 Ancestry.com. DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jesse by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jesse:

Mustain-112 and Mustain-28 appear to represent the same person because: I have Thomas Mustain and wife Jane or Jenny as in my tree as my 4th great grandparents, through their daughter Priscilla Mustain (1778 - 1850).
