Edward was reportedly born 6 Jun 1839 at 'Tarana' on the Fish River at Mutton Falls. Baptized at 'Tarana' 12 Dec 1839 with elder sister Mary Short Mutton. By 1861 Edward Henry Mutton had established his first business, a general store in his mother Mary’s premises on the Vale Road, Bathurst.
Edward married Annie Palmer 13 May 1862. They were married in ‘Wordsworth
Cottage’ at Queen Charlotte’s Vale.
Edward Henry Mutton died at age 81 on the 26th September 1920 in his residence, 94 Booth Street, Annandale, an inner suburb of Sydney. He was buried in the General section of the Waverley Cemetery.
