Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful. Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies. If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles. Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations. If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page. _____ Matt~ WikiTree Mentor
Do you have Royal Ancestors? If so, they are already here! Please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their already existing profiles.
WikiTree strives to be a fun, collaborative, productive site. It's also different than what many people are used to. Please take advantage of the Help Menu in the upper right hand corner, and of course, our Mentors :)
Please note we are trying to build one collaborative tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add profiles to WikiTree.
If you need any help getting started check out the Help section or head over to the G2G forum. You might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.
Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help with specific problems if you have any.
Good luck growing your branches, and thanks for offering to help with our shared tree :)
If you are just looking for family or other researchers working on the same names as yours, use the surname search function at the top of the profile page or ask at G2G. If you would like to enjoy the benefits of being a full member, leave us a message here letting us know that you read Volunteers at WikiTree
Once we see a message on your profile stating why you want to be a part of our collaborative genealogical community, one of our greeters will confirm you .
