Research Notes
Cooke-7654 16:03, 11 December 2022 (UTC) Abraham is almost certainly NOT the son of Jacob Meyer and Susanna Ream previously set in this profile. A deed from Jackson Co., Georgia shows his father was of that county, and not of Pennsylvania:
Deed Book E, page 433 – Deed of Sale – Oct. 14, 1808
Abraham Mires (Myers), Lewis Hynor, & Henry Robeson, the legal heirs & representatives of Jacob Myers late of Jackson Co., (now deceased) to Robert Montgomery, Jun. of the same county, $25 for 80 acres on the north side of the walnut fork of the Oconee river… being part of 600 acres[7] originally granted to Jacob Myers, bounded SE by land of John Phinesy, S by John Kirk’s land, N by Tuggle & W by said boundary line…Signed: Abraham (X) Myers, Lewis Hineer, Henry Robeson. Wit: Jno. McConnell, Jun., Jno. McConnell, J.P. Rec. Feb. 27, 1811.[6]
That page gives also gives abstracts of several other deeds mentioning land associated with Jacob:
Deed Book B, pages 330-332 – Deed of Sale – Oct. 7, 1799
Deed Book B, pages 172-173 – Deed of Sale – Oct. 18, 1799
Deed Book C, page 220 – Deed of Sale – June 18, 1800
Deed Book C, page 226 - Deed of Sale – Mar. 27, 1802
Deed Book C, page 226 – Deed of Sale – Apr. 3, 1802
Deed Book C, pages 323-324 – Deed of Sale (nonpayment of Taxes) – Sept. 28, 1802
Deed Book D, page 37 – Deed of Sale – Oct. 6, 1803
Deed Book D, page 61 – Deed of Sale – Feb. 7. 1804
Deed Book E, page 407 – Deed of Sale – Jan. 3, 1809
Jackson Co. deed books A-D are apparently not filmed, but are abstracted in a published book.[7]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Abraham by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Abraham:
Is there any evidence for including Abraham as a child of Jacob Myer and Susanna Ream? He does not appear in the listing of their children in the 1890 "Genealogy of the Meyer Family".
Thanks, Lily. This is a page from a genealogy which says that Abraham's father was Jacob Myers but his mother's name was not known. There were dozens of men named Jacob Myers in Pennsylvania around this time. It seems likely that Abraham was the son of a different Jacob, and not Jacob b.1732 in Mühlbach (whose sons were named as Philip, John Jacob, John George, Henry, Michael and Christopher).
