Arthur J Myers was born 28 February 1879 in Bennington Twnp., Licking Co., Ohio. He is the son of Thomas Myers and Emma Alspach. ^[1] Despite his birth record date, later records indicate a birth date of 2 February 1879 so perhaps the 28th was a birth registration date or an error.

    AJ Myers

    Arthur J Myers, 74, former marshal of Johnstown several years, died at 2:30 pm Sunday afternoon at Doctors Hospital, Columbus, where he had been a patient four days. He had been in failing health the past few years, and suffered a cerebral hemorrhage last Monday.

    Mr Myers, a former automobile mechanic, was born Feb 4 1879, in Bennington Township, the son of Thomas and Emma (Alspach) Myers. His wife, Mrs Mina Myers preceded him in death Nov 6 1949 and he is survived by a son Lyle Myers of the home; two daughters Mrs Lillian Amore, Linden Avenue, of Newark and Mrs Verle Phelan of Johnstown and a great-granddaughter.

    The body is at the Emerson Funeral Home in Johnstown where the Rev. Walter H Reitz will conduct services at 2 pm Wednesday and burial will be made in Green Hill Cemetery.
