1871 Marriage

G. S. Dysart married Mary Isabel Myers on March 21, 1871 in Davis County, Iowa. [1]

1880 U.S. Census

G. S. Dysart, age 34, was a farmer near Perry, Davis County, Iowa, in 1880. Family members were:

  • G S Dysart, Self, age 34, born in Tennessee
  • 'Mary I Dysart, Wife, age 26, born in Iowa
  • Roy Dysart, Son, age 5, born in Iowa
  • Mabel Dysart, Daughter, age 1, born in Iowa (Mabel was 7, not 1 as the census writing appears. cdt) [2]

Marriages

Mary Isabel (Belle) died on 20 Aug 1883.[3] Knowing his three young children - Mabel born 1872; Roy Snowden (my grandfather) born 24 Jun 1875; and , Ethel May born 28 Dec 1880 - needed a mother, Gideon married Frances Lydia Creel (born 9 Feb 1857) on 28 Feb 1884. She died in just a few months on 11 Nov 1884. They had no children. Gideon did not remarry again until 21 Sep 1892 when he married Nora Quinn Evans (born 06 Aug 1863). They had one daughter, Jessie Eveline Dysart, born on 21 Apr 1894.
