Title: Jacob Myers in "Early Times in Clinton County" KY

Myers Ridge Cemetery in Kentucky.

"About the summer of 1799, Jacob Myers brought his family to Clinton County. Born in Germany, Myers married Lydia Hindenberg and came to America before the Rovolution. Apparently he came first to Maryland, then moved to Pennsylvania, then to Virginia. After a short stay in that state, he came to Lincoln County Kentucky in 1782, where he established a transportation line for passengers and mail from that county to Pittsburg. He operated this line until 1791, when he began experimenting with iron and established a small iron foundry. His small foundry was one of the first of its kind in the state. Myers soon had the industry developed to the point where he was making pots, pans, and other cooking utensils for the settlers. About 1799, he left Lincoln County and drifted south to Clinton County, bringing his wife, two daughters, Margaret and Mary, and two sons Christopher and Daniel."
