Arthur Douglas Myers (known as Douglas) was born in October 1938 in Auckland, New Zealand, the son of Kenneth Benn Myers and Margaret Myers.[1]
His first marriage was to Stephanie Overton. Their children were:[1]
Douglas met Barbara Lucas, who was to become his second wife, in the early 1980s. He admitted his affair to Stephanie in the mid-1980s and Douglas and Stephanie divorced. Barbara and Douglas married in the early 1990s.[1]
Douglas was knighted in 2010.[2]
In 2008 Sir Douglas went in for an operation on his bowel cancer. He turned 75 in 2013.[3]
Sir Douglas died on 8 April 2017 in London, England.[2][4]
