DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

Myers-19455 and Myers-9352 are not ready to be merged because: Identical birth and death dates, same wife. Both have sons named John and Massey with the same birth and death dates. However Myers-9352 includes children Isaac and Moses, and Myers-19455 includes children David and Abraham. Research needed to confirm whether these are all children of the same family, or whether they are two separate families and one has included children from the other in error.

There is a YDNA test related to this man. It is part of the Myers DNA project, R1b, lineage X. FTDNA kit # is 415774. He is a close match to me and my father, a 66/67 YDNA match, so potentially also related to Cap William Myers, Northampton militia. You can see my blog for more (http://arethetexasmyersgerman.wordpress.com) ..
